In the manifold of fuel cell stacks disturbed flow conditions may cause an under-supply of individual cells. Due to the small tube diameters commercial flow sensors can resolve the flow profile only insufficiently.
At the Laboratory for measuring and test techniques novel laser-optic flow sensors are developed which allow for investigating the flow in the manifold with a high spatial resolution. The gained measurement data form the basis for the design of these distributing systems.
