Offer

The Chair of Hydrogen and Nuclear Technology accumulated a wide range of know-how and experience in high temperature energy technology during the last two decades. Currently, two working groups are involved in research projects related to energy storage technologies and renewable energy sources.
The working group "Ceramic Materials" focuses on the manipulation of ceramic materials properties by means of innovative laser technologies. High-temperature resistant welded joints for ceramic structural materials as well as cutting-edge ceramic coatings are being prepared and optimized on a laboratory scale. Furthermore, the group investigates evolving technologies for usage of hydrogen as basis for storage and transport of energy originating from renewable energy sources.
The working group Dynamics assesses the stability of energy systems operated non-steadily which is crucial particularly in power grids that exhibit a high penetration of volatile renewable energy sources.
