The Leipzig Institute for Energy (IE Leipzig), in a history of more than half a century arisen of the former Institut für Energetik (founded 1953), is an interdisciplinary consulting and research company working both theoretically and practically on technical, economic and ecological aspects of the energy industry.
The work of the Leipzig Institute for Energy covers the whole thematic scope of the topic energy. This includes the generation, distribution and efficient use of both fossil and renewable energies. At the same time the IE Leipzig analyses environmental impacts of the energy supply and energy efficient transportation solutions.
