One of the primary tasks of EFDS is to promote a close collaboration between companies and institutions, operating on the field of material development, plant engineering, job coating as well as surface characterization.

- Application, assistance and support of projects concerning the industrialcommunity research
- Preparation of certificates and studies for new products, markets and investment projects as well as preparation of strategy recommendations
- Consulting for leading a company - benchmarking
- Project- and network management
- Consulting to all questions relating to surface engineering especially to allinnovative proceedings of vacuum- and plasma surface treatment
- Placement of qualified job coaters and companies specializes in plant engineering, organization of sample coatings
- Provide representative service at fairs
- Organization of presentations, colloquia and workshops
