The BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieentwicklung e.V. (BTE), founded in 1998, is a non-profit industrial research institution focused on developing new technologies in cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises as well as industrializing and disseminating them through technology transfer. For both, local, Germany-wide and international networks are used. Relevant areas include Additive Manufacturing, medical devices and surface technologies. BTE offers R&D and services in the following areas: CAD: design and data conversion, processing of CT and MRI data; Additive Manufacturing: 3D Printing, MPL, material development, Process chains; Plasma electrolytic surface treatment of complex parts: cleaning, deburring, polishing.
