GWT is a service provider focusing on a variety of scientific resources provided especially within the Technical University of Dresden and the University Medical Center Dresden and other research institutions and provides services in transfer of knowledge and technology and thus links the industry and public research institutes in the State of Saxony (by commercializing achieved results, performing abilities and teaching offers to the relevant business market).

GWT is a medium-sized, private enterprise incorporated as a 100% subsidiary within the TUDAG (TU DRESDEN Corporation). The company has been in the market for twelve years gaining annual sales of 18 million euros. It is one of the larger technology transfer companies in Germany.

Management and staff can refer to its professional expertise and experience within both the academic and research environment and the industry. GWT is the contract partner to the industry and thus assumes responsibility for managing projects of mission oriented research of scientists. It is in charge of due performance in time, quality and budget. Specialty and requirements of industry and the scientific environment are satisfied by providing professional service management such as customer service, contract management, project organization, human resource management, procurement of materials, project management and financial controlling.
