Set up on December 18, 2009, biosaxony e.V. is a registered association representing biotechnology and related areas from materials science to medical equipment throughout the German region of Saxony. The founding members represent the various life science companies, research centers and representatives of the sector in Saxony. The president is Roland Göhde, CEO of Partec GmbH from Görlitz.

The aims of biosaxony e.V. are to initiate projects between industry and science, to network services and expertise, and to leverage synergies to boost the development of the biotech industry and publicize the region’s expertise.

Work on the ground is strengthened by the two offices maintained by biosaxony in Dresden and Leipzig. Additional activities are to be developed in other key areas of Saxony.

Biosaxony works in close cooperation with companies and research institutes as well as networks of the biotechnology industry – even beyond the borders of Saxony.
