USING TURBULENT BIOFILM BIOLOGY - Biofilm processes belong to the oldest technological processes of biological sewage purification. It is known that biofilms in sewage treatment are in the position to offer extraordinary performances.
Intensive research has been carried out especially in the field of fluidised-bed processes during the past decade. A number of process combinations have been developed which, however, require a professional interpretation, if the advantages of the biofilms are to be fully used in practical operation.
