Competence Center EE - Electrical and Electronics - Architecture in Automobiles at the Dresden University of Technology
Research focus:
- research on distributed automotive EE-systems
- car-specific design and evaluation methods for EE-architectures
- overall impact of EE-architectures and new technologies on other automotive domains (e. g. diagnosis)
At the chair of Vehicle Mechatronics at the Institute of Automobile Technologies Dresden – IAD at the TU Dresden a group of scientists work on the application-oriented research of electro chemical energy storage systems. The main focus lies on measuring and modeling of the storage system and the development of battery management strategies. Therefor an extensive set of testbenches as well as an experimental battery in a test carrier (BETCI) was build up.
The characteristics of the testbenches are:
15 measurement channels, up to 300A charging, up to 500A discharging, up to 60V, frequencies up to 3kHz, climate chambers with a range from -40°C to 180°C
Applied measuring methods and mainly determined characteristics:
Capacity determination, open circuit voltage, internal resistance, electrochemical impedance spectroscopie, power capability, static/dynamic measurements, driving cycles, standardized cycles, cycling tests (aging)
